Comments: Breaks bud later than the Pinus cembra var. siberica. Some growers will mechanically scarify the seed coat prior to warm stratification. Seed has hard seed coat. Warm stratification is for immature embryo. So , hard seed coat and immature embryo that requires first warm stratification then cold stratification.
Germination info: Seed requires 60 days warm moist stratification followed by 90-270 days cold moist stratification.
