Comments: A short cold stratification may increase speed and uniformity of germination. Stores well cold and dry. Tree exhibits fire resistance and water collecting ability of the needles at high humidity air loads with little to no rain. This makes it popular in the reforestation of semi-arid subtropical fire prone regions. Cones take 12-20 months to ripen pending temperature and rainfall. Height 60 feet with a spread of 30 feet.
