Comments: Damaged by late freezes. We are told the seed is used to produce phytopthera resistant rootstock to graft Abies fraseri on to.Abies firma is now being used as a rootstock that enables the Southern US to grow other species of Abies that until recently was impossible. Drought and wet foot resistant. Phytopthera resistant as a root stock.Abies firma is phytophera resistant. Reduced min quality 9/2019 as quality off trees much lower recent years.
Germination info: Seed requires 30-60 days cold moist stratification.
