Comments: Do not soak seed in water prior to planting. Now that we have said that, note that we soaked seed in tap water until it sank then planted; seed germination in about 1 week was at the 50% rate. (this was a test of 2 year old seed to see if it would germinate) Cold stratification may inhibit germination. We were once told that pouring fish oil emulsion over the planted seed will increase germination rate and %. Hmmmm. Used as a street tree in Asia. Fall leaf color for the deep South. Do not over-dry the seed. Only species in it's genus. Plant is under study for anti-cancer properties.
